Jose Lopez began his formation as a self-taught artist. Firstly, refining his skills in the area of modeling and sculpture, it was in 2011, when Jose made a firm commitment to abstract informalism, which enables him to express a series of complex emotions as well as concepts of life. Jose's body of work develops around the notion of randomness. Considering life itself as an accident, Jose paints with the intention to understand the mystery around his own being, while at the same time trying to organize the facts occurring within the space and time attached to his existence. While trying to understand the meaning of life we exchange our views always in subjective way and we find support in our experiences, which are built up in the meantime. Jose Lopez considers art as a way to communicate with others and with his own self. Art is seen as a diary and a witness of his relationship with others. It is the expression of his contamination of other cultures, ideas, languages and places. From 1994 to 1997, Jose was involved in the management of art related international events and more specifically in managing a series of different multimedia projects that got part of art fairs such as "ARCO95" and "Art Fair Barcelona 96" in Spain, and "Arte Fiera 95" in Italy. Jose has also expanded his artistic practice within the fields of graphic design and advertising, while working for a number of American film studios, including DreamWorks, Twenty Century Fox, United Artists, Mandalay, etc. Originally from Spain, Jose Lopez lives and works in Paris. 2012 - Solo exhibition - Lille (France) 2015 - Group show - Shiraz -(Iran) 2015 - Group show - National Library (Girona - Spain)
