"What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter." Henri Matisse
I find myself intensely passionate about creating art yet aware of the struggle to describe what is essentially a silent process of following the present moment of creative inspiration. Sometimes my paintings reveal the power of balanced contrast or abundance of the dream state. Other times, I am inspired to create what tends to be dismissed- the essence of a feeling, or something familiar with a perceptual twist. I experience the variety amongst my pieces as differing notes in a musical composition. In truth, creating art brings me immense joy. My paintings are a celebration of life and this celebration is reflected in my work.
