Klein Manzano

Sculptors Cosé Manzano (Spain) and Anne Klein H. (the Netherlands) live and work in the South West of Spain. Both work in metal sculpture and installations. They established the KleinManzano art-collective in 2013 and their works can be found in collections in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Unites States.

Artist's Statements:
Cosé Manzano: 'Direct metal sculpting like hammering, cutting and welding is my preferred technique. My raw material is metal bar or metal sheet which I intuitively shape, bend and hammer into figurative sculpture. But I can also be captured by a found object or synthetic material.
I find inspiration in animals and the land that surrounds us, and also in architecture and contemporary art. In my current work I focus on skin ‘transported’ to metal, and on metrical shapes I see in nature.
Although we don’t literally work together on the same art works, working together as KleinManzano reinforces my direction, inner sense and reference in art.'
