Hi! I am a Korean-born nomad K- Pop Art artist - currently based in Baku, Azerbaijan - spreading the world through my work the charm of Koreaness. I call my art K- Pop Art as I incorporate Korean folk motifs in my work to introduce Korean cultural content to audiences and hopefully to popularize it worldwide.
I would also like to mention that I care for the planet Earth. I strive for Net Zero art, meaning all the resources that I get for making a piece of art are represented in the piece and nothing is added to the carbon system. For that reason, I avoid buying new art materials, and instead use plastic bags that I accumulated overtime from buying groceries etc. as the main medium for my artwork. I fuse plastic bags into a paper or fabric like material and use the old patchwork technique called 'Jogakbo' to create my work. Jogakbo technique was invented by housewives of the old Korean kingdom named Joseon when they started making wrapping cloths by stitching up together little scrap cloths. In modern days their scrap patchwork is dubbed 'Mondrian of Korea.' I get a lot of inspirations not just from the esthetics of it but also from the creators'...
