Born in 1968 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
The Artwork
Paula Klien is back to the universe of fine arts - her first artistic manifestation. In 2016 she found in the tradition of age-old medium of ink, the antithesis to her previous experience with photographic gear. Freed from constrains, she converted light and shadow into fluid and monochromatic lyrical abstract canvasses and three-dimensional objects. Between spontaneity and control, action and inaction, visible and invisible, her investigation is conceptualized in the field of spirituality, transcendence, silence and surrender. With today’s ever-increasing circulation of images, Paula Klien explores the transience of the modern world using a timeless technique.
