Carolina Duran was born and grew up in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Her passion for art began at a young age. As a child, she was surrounded by art, dance, and music, along with the beauty and colorful of her home city landscape, inspiring her interest in fine art. In high school, Carolina began to study technical drawing, later artistic drawing techniques and oil painting. After completing high school, she studied administration and finance, and during many years she continued experiencing with pencils, oil and acrylic paintings. She used various techniques and paint media: cut paper, collages, fabrics, batik, oleo, textures and fusion glass, but always returning to her main love... the acrylic, with which she feels a natural affinity which allows for a flow and spontaneity essential to the feelings she wishes to project, she had a realistic style. Years later, she was trained in modern art theories and techniques in the School of Arts at NUR University in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Carolina evolved and changed her style. In 1998 she opened her own art studio, where she taught painting to children and adults for many years. In 2004 she was a founding member of "Mano Creativa", a creative space where she participated for 6 years in permanent exhibitions. In 2010 she moved to Canada where she has lived and worked since then. She focuses much of his attention on large abstract paintings and contemporary art.
