"Embracing flaws as part of the beauty of the whole"
I am a Warwickshire based photographic artist. I work by commission for portraits and weddings, but my particular interest is my hand-transferred images on to natural slate and other media. The resulting reverse image represents my Aspergic view of the world- back to front needing to making sense of the subject matter. My series of bubble images particularly represent this due to the multiple reflections creating confusion but still a literal representation of the subject matter.
Each print is completely unique with varying flaws due to the materials used. I use silver paint to highlight these flaws in a similar fashion to the Chinese philosophy of gilding the crack within a mended item; therefore embracing the flaws rather than trying to hide them.
