Yejin Shin

Shin believes that the longing for the original state of nature is deeply rooted in the human heart. In today’s world, nature is losing its original form amid threats such as nuclear danger, climate change, artificial intelligence (AI), and biotechnology. We are becoming increasingly distant from the original beauty that humans so desperately desire. She thinks the Earth may be enduring the fear that one day all beauty may disappear. She wonders what untouched nature might have looked like in the first place? And carefully place our crowns in the center of splendid and pristine nature.

Shin believes that we are the crown created to shine above all else in beautiful nature. She believes that the crown, which has traditionally been a symbol of authority and rule, symbolizes pride and self-esteem in an idealistic sense. As she reflects on her life’s journey, the crown she gives herself is not just an ornament decorated with gold and jewels. It symbolizes giving value to every moment of life, every challenge and the process of overcoming it. This crown gives her the strength to move forward, while the sparkling shards of light around her exist to protect and brighten our path.
