Felipe Alanis Segura was born in Montevideo in 1992 and has lived in Barcelona for more than twenty years. Trained
as an architect at the ETSAB (Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona), his practice has been oriented towards furniture design with an artistic and sustainable approach.
His work is characterized by the use of upcycling techniques, reusing waste materials as a starting point for creation, rather than as a result of a preconceived idea. This methodology has led him to explore and approach contemporary art techniques, such as collage and assemblage, recognizing parallels between his creative process and that of artists who use these languages.
He has collaborated with institutions such as MACBA (Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona), participating in the design of temporary exhibitions, which has enriched his interdisciplinary view between art, architecture and
design.
Currently, his practice seeks to integrate upcycling with parametric design tools, exploring new forms of artistic and artisanal production that dialogue with the environment and the material context.
