Patrik Šíma (Prague, Czech Republic) is a contemporary expressionist artist whose multidisciplinary practice—spanning painting, drawing, mixed media, installations, music composition, poetry, and prose—follows a deeply personal path guided by the conviction: "MY HAND IS LED BY GOD.“ For over twenty years, his fine arts have centered on "COLOR LIGHT"—a mysterious, immersive force that demands total surrender to achieve catharsis, revealing inner harmony through bold manipulation of color, dramatic brushstrokes, contrast, and expressive forms. Evolving within New Figuration, Šíma portrays the human figure in states of loneliness, flawlessness, and existential search—unique entities navigating meaning through their own existence. Works emerge in waves from intimate inner moods, nature's impulses, and spontaneous rhythms, mirroring the organic flow of creativity in music and literature. This process dissolves disciplinary boundaries, treating art as an indicator of truth, synonym for personal development, and vehicle for authentic self-expression. Themes of perception, emotional depth, cathartic release, and rhythmic emergence invite parallels to scientific explorations of visual/light processing, psychological flow states, consciousness, and natural patterns—offering viewers a glimpse into the unseen forces shaping human experience. My practice immerses viewers in explorations of color and light perception, employing layered, luminous compositions to evoke fluid shifts in awareness and profound emotional catharsis. Wave-like rhythms in form, hue, and texture map an intimate inner human landscape—drawing from natural cycles of flow, resonance, and equilibrium to create transformative, contemplative experiences.
