Miranda Lailey

Miranda is a Dorset-based artist working from her home studio, exhibiting across the UK with pieces held in private collections around the world.

Born in 1977 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, she trained first as a Specialist Decorative Paint Finisher after art college. A choice that gave her rigorous technique, discipline, and a deep fluency with colour, pigments, and materials. She now channels that craft into her fine art .
Miranda creates work driven by place and perception: the elemental colours, textures and organic forms of the natural world; human nature and emotion; and the human figure. She builds paintings in layers, stacking rich hues and tactile surfaces to create depth that pulls the viewer in, inviting personal interpretation and imaginative discovery.

Committed to sustainable practice, she favours natural pigments and paints, often crafting her own tools, and continually experiments with eco-friendly alternatives.
