Luis Iga

Luis Iga was born in Saltillo, Coahuila Mexico. He attributes methods and his use of colors on influences from his heritage. Born into a large family of Middle Eastern and Spanish dissent, Luis was immersed in a culture where artists use rich graphics and the vibration of colors to awaken our senses. Luis creativity was apparent at a very young age. As a child, he developed a passion for photography, sculpture, printmaking, and multimedia. By twelve, he designed a brand identity for Ropa Modelo, S.A. a jean company in Mexico.

Luis photographic technique involves collages merging paintings, digital art, and photography. Despite his success as a creative digital artist, Luis does not employ these software enhancements to his art. Rather he insists that the nuances of film remain the focus of his pieces.

In his adult life, Luis has been a traveler and student of many cultures. Since coming to America to study, he's lived in New Orleans, Connecticut, New York City, Northern California, and now Miami. He received a BFA from the University of Connecticut, where he helped to establish a fine arts periodical.
