Pavlo Ponomarenko | Artist Biography (ENG)
Pavlo Ponomarenko (b. 1979, Mariupol, Ukraine) is a mid-career artist. His practice is a unique intersection of complex system logic and avant-garde traditions, rooted in his background in computer networks and systems engineering (Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics).
Ponomarenko’s work is an ongoing anthropological research project. He utilizes geometric abstraction and cubist deconstruction to explore the "structural code" of reality. His art balances hard-edge precision with deep emotional resonance, focusing on fundamental human instincts, sexuality, and the complex duality of love and conflict.
Since 2011, Ponomarenko has developed a prolific career with over 13 solo exhibitions and participation in more than 20 group shows across the USA, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, and Denmark. His institutional recognition reached a milestone in 2023-2025, with major works acquired for the permanent collections of the B. Voznytsky Lviv National Art Gallery and the A. Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum.
A member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 2017) and the Union of Artists of Varna (since 2024), Ponomarenko’s works are held in private collections worldwide,...
