Cristofer Arias

Hello! My name is Cristofer Arias. I studied fine arts in the UCR (Universidad de Costa Rica).
I've had exhibitions in Centro Cultural Mexicano, Costa Rica and in Centro Cultural Español, Costa Rica. Also, some of my paintings has been the cover for several costarrican poetry books. My favorite media is oil, because for me, the range of posibilities together with charcoal, are infinite. What I would like to achieve with my artwork is explore how far can I create and discover a new language from what has already been interpreted.

I admire forrmal aesthetic analisis schools like Benedeto Croce, Umberto Eco. Which states that the psicologic content of the artwork is a consecuence from the form. Which means the artwork has to speak by itself instead of needing an intelectual written speech. In my process, I've realized I can paint and draw with any style to describe my mind wishes regarding arts. I learned from the old masters from the Renaissance and take something from Modernism.
