I live and work in West Sussex and graduated in 2005 with a first class degree from Wimbledon School of Art.
Inspiration for my work usually starts with my experiences, insecurities,the people that I meet and general observations on life. I like to capture these moments in collage or paint, with humour (at times rather dark) and candour. They can also take me into the fantastical and abject.
My own photography plays an important role in my collage along with other printed material and found objects. Some ideas seem more suited to collage and others to paint or clay.
I enjoy playing with concepts of 'low' and 'high' art and encourage the viewer to use their imagination, and bring their own stories to the situations that I create.
I also work as a volunteer in the art department of a hospital for neuro-disability enabling the residents to make art.
I am currently showing my latest work 'Atropos and the Aged' in the Showdown Surrealism exhibition. Atropos is the Greek goddess of destiny and ends the life of every mortal by cutting their thread with her 'abhorred shears.'
