I was trying to get a dramatic effect by drawing strong diagonal shapes, using bold colors and cutting out shapes in the drawing. I then laid this drawing on top of a same size white sheet of paper. Media is watercolor brush point markers photoshopped in 2010.

Soon after I was born in Santa Ana, California in 1939 my family and over 12,000 other Japanese Americans were evacuated to relocation camps until WW 2 was over. When I was 10 years old I lived almost independently until I got married in 1971. At age 14 my art teacher encouraged me to explore my artistic potential and teach my peers to become better artist. Since then I have continued to explore the unlimited potentual of drawing and painting as a means of creating and composing visual images that have an essential life energy we all possess. I am grateful to be able to learn from the many past great master artists and witness what today's contemporary artist are creating every day.
