Sergiu Ciochina

Paris-based painter Sergiu Ciochina (born in the Republic of Moldova) works between figuration and emotional abstraction. He maintains an atelier/gallery practice in Paris, with an ongoing Atelier Collection (30+ paintings). His works are held in private collections, including 10+ large-format canvases alongside dozens of medium and small works. His practice centers on stylized bodies, drawing-derived gesture, and a distilled palette to evoke tension, vulnerability, and psychological presence.

Drawing is the backbone of my painting: lines become carriers of emotion and gesture becomes language. By reducing anatomy and amplifying rhythm, the work stays open—bodies shift between fragility and force, intimacy and distance.
