Painting has always been present in my life. My childhood and my entire adolescence took place in an environment in which painting and art were part of everyday life, thanks to the professional activity of my father, Joaquin Quirós, an antiques dealer and artistic painter. in his youth. Probably these experiences have marked my particular relationship with painting, in a double sense. In the first place, in the important presence and recreation in my work of that physical environment of Sanlúcar and La Jara in which I grew up –its fields, its beaches and the light of that place that still seem unique to me-; and secondly, in the fact that my academic and professional initiation in art has not been the result of a preconceived or planned career since my childhood, but rather the natural consequence of a long process that first led me to live with painting. unconsciously then to recognize and admire it, and finally, to practice it with passion as I have been doing today.
