As a photographer I document/create narratives exploring issues of environmentally aware culture, identity, transformation and the process of coming home through nature and meditation. My artwork is informed by yogic practice, life style and ecorituality. I created Sea Mandala in 2010 to design and photograph sensory yoga art experiences inspired by the tradition of mandala and yantra making. I use story telling, documentary, fine art, participatory and experiential techniques to create sensory yoga art environments and design yoga art experiences within them. My artwork aims to facilitate contact and bonding with nature for the purpose of discovering and expressing our own true nature. I enjoy exploring the tradition of self portraiture and landscape photography. I am interested in the process of raising personal and environmental awareness through yoga and art. I explore topics of coming out and coming home through nature and the process of transformation. I explore images of diasporic art where the sea is a metaphor of the experience of journeying into unknown and faraway land (consciousness) and the event of coming home through your body, dance and connection to true nature. I'm interested in issues of homelessness and coming home.
