Michael E Voss

I'm a painter, printmaker and draftsman. In 2025, I opened an independent art space in the rapidly growing Arts District of Waukegan, IL: ShadowBoxX Gallery.

My works have been widely exhibited nationally and collected internationally.

I take inspiration from nature, urban spaces, inner journeys, absurdities, and working people.

My influences are the old masters, the innovations of contemporary artists, mythology and psychology.

Music, writing, mathematics, and technology are also interwoven within my work.

I thrive on experimentation, and enjoy building my own tools and innovating processes to create new ideas.
