RECOGNITION
Gabriel Quaresma is a contemporary visual artist whose practice investigates painting as a field of sensory perception and landscape construction. His work develops through layers, gestures, and textures, creating compositions that move between abstraction and the suggestion of urban and internal territories.
His production is organized into series such as Urban Fragments and Resonance, in which he explores relationships between memory, light, time, and materiality. In Urban Fragments, painting emerges as a sensitive cartography of the city, marked by tensions between structure and decay. In Resonance, the focus shifts toward more fluid chromatic fields, where color operates as frequency and lived experience.
Alongside his artistic practice, he has built a career of over 13 years as an editorial makeup artist, an experience that directly informs his perception of color, light, composition, and visual presence.
His work engages with contemporary architecture and interiors.
