Adriana Gajos

My name is Adriana-Mirabela and my creative path had begun with music, and for the first 7 years of my studies I was singing and playing the piano. I loved music, but I felt the need for a different way of self-expression and so I entered the art lyceum. This was the beginning of learning of a new language – visual one. After lyceum I enrolled in the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts, where I studied Graphics. There I discovered engraving, and I dedicated all years of my Bachelor studies and of my Master Studies to it. Now in my paintings I use all the knowledge I have gained in the field of graphics to create something special, something I can relate the most at the moment. Stylistically I am very interested in the combination of abstract and non-abstract motifs. Most of my recent artworks are stylized landscapes on the verge of painting and graphics. The way the artwork can be perceived as a whole, the impression that is made by the shapes, lines, color, texture - that's what I pay most of my attention to. I let my experiments with new techniques guide me, it helps to generate new ideas.
