S Fox-Amarajyoti

I live in Nottingham and paint in my small studio in my garden. I have had some major health issues last year and much of my recent artwork has been trying to deal with these, come to terms with disabilities and even rise above them to come into a state of balance. I have ‘painted the pain’ of these various conditions but also tried to make my work create an inner balance and harmony. The health issues and the painting are ongoing.

I trained in Art and Design in the 60s, attending Sheffield, Liverpool and Leeds Art Colleges. I taught Art for 20+ years in secondary and further education before giving it all up to travel to India and Ireland, returning to Nottingham teach Yoga and Meditation for the last 30+ years.

I have exhibited in several Nottinghamshire exhibitions over the past 40 years and at the Fronteer Gallery in Sheffield in 2021, Surface Gallery Abstract and Cupola Gallery Xmas exhibition 2022 as well as several national and international online exhibitions. This year I have had work in Sherwood Arts week, Exhibited at Nottingham Society of Artists with Rufford Arts Society and had a solo exhibition ‘Paintings on Paper – mostly’.
I also have work in the Cupola (Sheffield) Xmas exhibition 2023.
