Alysia Webster

My work is about recreating the feeling of being immersed in the landscape; I let experiences from different places blend and collide in my paintings, where I use varied applications of colour to re-imagine the landscape. I work from my memories of exploring the mountains, and by painting intuitively with colour and texture. Using gestural marks and atmospheric washes to mirror the physicality of the mountains, the grain of the rock, and the dynamics of the landscape.
