Brian Spencer

Hello, my name is Brian Spencer. I was born in Mattoon, IL. As a child, I found most of my days were spent drawing. There was no concern for what kind of paper I was drawing on or what medium I was using, I was naturally drawn to Art and creation. I was in private school for most of my young school life where I studied under master artist Linda Ray of EIU. Linda was the major push I needed artistically. With the guidance of Linda and my natural talents, I would go on to enter a couple pieces into competitions in which I would win 1st places several times. Though, I must say, I do not really like the thought of art as competition yet It does tend to inspire great works. Nowadays I am coming into swing with my art yet I know I have much to learn. I have been drawing portraits and more recently animal portraits. At the end of it all I just enjoy art and I hope that with the art I produce, I can invoke emotions and thought into the viewer. I will also say, that I am fresh to the gallery scene, so any advice from artists/collectors/viewers/ is much appreciated. I know my artwork is primitive but I have fun with what I am doing.
