Painting has been my passion since an early age. Creative freedom is essential to me in this pursuit. I do not paint on commission - I paint when I feel the need to express myself on a particular subject. I usually do not limit my expression to a single painting; instead, I work in series. My inspirations vary widely. One such series is about travel. Through landscapes seen from a car window, I aimed to capture the trance - like state of a traveler. Another series is dedicated to Igor Stravinsky's ballet The Rite of Spring, choreographed by Pina Bausch. The German choreographer and dancer, along with her extraordinary art, has moved me for many years. Her approach to ballet, the human body, and emotions captivates me, inspiring me to explore this theme - one I will undoubtedly return to. Currently, I am working on a series of flowers. However, these are not conventionally beautiful flowers; they are depicted in the process of fading, on the verge of wilting. I am fascinated by the dramatic structure that remains after the once firm and alluring form of a flower begins to decay. It is as if, with the remnants of its existence, it tries to cry out that it is still here - that it is not over yet. Each painting captures a frozen fraction of a second in a dramatic dance. Each flower is painted separately, not as part of a bouquet. Every piece in this series is an individual portrait of a single plant, devoid of any background context. I place the flowers in a dark brown space to emphasize the emptiness and solitude that accompany every being in their final moments. However, despite this, I do not intend to sadden the viewer. I hope that they will also see hope in these paintings and reflect on the idea that every moment of life holds its own beauty and is worth appreciating. The role of a painter is to capture fleeting moments within the long process of artistic creation. This process is often arduous, filled with setbacks and disappointments, but also moments of joy. Ultimately, however, it is always about the moment - something that no longer exists. These flowers, too, are gone - withered and dry long ago, reduced to ash. These paintings serve as memory capsules for worlds that no longer exist and yet continue to live on as long as we remember them.
