Rose Morrison

I am a Nova Scotia based interdisciplinary artist working in painting, sound, and land research.

My visual work is created with natural pigments gathered from the landscapes that shape my life, including riverbeds and my own garden. My recent work is also informed by time spent on Sable Island, where I served as the inaugural Artist in Residence in 2025, observing its dune systems, ecology, and soundscape.

My practice explores memory, ecology, and the emotional relationship between people and place. I also work internationally as a musician and composer, and these sensibilities of rhythm, movement, and listening deeply inform my painting. I aim to create work that feels grounding, intimate, and connected to the living world.
