Simona Bursi

Simona Bursi, Graduated with a master in cinematic animation at Urbino "Scuola del libro". Simona lived in Milano from 1997 to 2007 and worked as a character designer, storyboard-artist, layout artist and animation artist for different cartoon publishing houses: Bozzetto; Animation Band; Mix Film; Green Movie Animation; De Mas and Partners; Motus; Gertie; Rainbow and Studio Campedelli. She has also been directing video musicals for children and worked as a graphic artist for several television stations. Simona has designed scenography for video musicals for children as well as for several shows and serials, amongst others The Bee-Bees, transmitted both in Italy and abroad. Since 2008, she has been living in Fano, Marche, working as an illustrator for a large number of Italian and foreign publishing houses. Selected in 2021 at the Bologna Children's Book Fair for the exhibition "the child spectator", she exhibits in several solo exhibitions, including "Madre Natura Umana" (2024), "Beyond the silence" (2024), "Beyond the face" (2024), "Echoes of an imaginary world" (2025), and group exhibitions: "Stato di natura" (2022) and "Immensamente piccolo" (2025). Selected in 2021 at the Bologna Children's Book Fair for the exhibition "the child spectator", she exhibits in several solo exhibitions, including "Madre Natura Umana" (2024), "Beyond the silence" (2024), "Beyond the face" (2024), "Echoes of an imaginary world" (2025), and group exhibitions: "Stato di natura" (2022) and "Immensamente piccolo" (2025). Some of her short films, including Tribute to Nosferatu (2024), have been screened at festivals and reviews dedicated to animation and experimental cinema. The short film "Onda 28" (2025) was selected among the three finalists of "The Thousand Faces of Water" - Acea at the 2025 Rome Film Festival.
In 2025, he will open his exhibition space "BUH! simple smile surprise" digitalartigianal art in Fano, pursuing a path that combines artistic tradition and technological innovation, always with an eye on the dialogue between art, illustration, animation, and new technologies.
