Theodoros Zervas

My name is Theodoros Zervas and I am a Greek self-taught artist. My work revolves around the quiet tensions that shape us, the wounds we carry, the moments that break us, and the slow, uncertain ways we heal.

I work mostly with deep blacks, restrained reds, fabric, and textured surfaces, creating abstract pieces that feel both intimate and architectural.

I did not begin painting through formal study. It started as a need to express thoughts that felt too heavy, and emotions that existed in silence. Over time it became a language of its own. The contrast between presence and disappearance, protection and exposure, has always felt central to me.

This is why many of my works include real fabric, cut marks, or layered textures: they act like traces of what is hidden, covered, or waiting to be seen.

I draw inspiration from the internal landscape, those moments when we feel too much, or not enough; when we long to be held, or when we choose to retreat.

Originally from Greece and now based in the Netherlands, I continue to build a body of work that is minimal in palette but rich in psychological depth. Through each piece, I hope to offer a quiet space where something unspoken can finally surface.
