Hi there,
I'm Alex, a photographer and filmmaker based out of Sydney.
Commercially, I mainly shoot advertising, with some editorial portraiture thrown in for good measure - this is how I make my living.
But, for my sanity, I need to create more than just what I get commissioned for. I've created several series and many one-off images.
I'm in my 30s and live with my partner and our two children in the inner west suburbs of Sydney. One day, hopefully, we shall have a kitten.
I'm self taught as a photographer, and never assisted. I just muddled my way into it really... Well, not just really - I started off at film school, worked my way up to being a producer, then somehow start shooting stills.
Over time, my work shifted to mainly photography, now it's balanced between photography and filmmaking.
I have had 3 somewhat successful solo shows and a multitude of group ones. I have also being a finalist in the Manning Art Prize on multiple occasions and was a finalist in the National Portrait Photography Prize in 2013.
