Deva Dasis

I look at the world with objective eyes based on reality and determine -with a worry- that it needs artistic proposals with the aim to solve any human conflict. Art as therapy, instrument or personal trick. Either rational or not, with absolute ability to modify thoughts, positions or reflections in the mind of the spectator.

I've commenced my journey in art finding center in prostitution. The desperate cry of a young hooker was the catalyst planted in my brain to start feeling the fascination of symbolic, aesthetic and narrative values ever present in all that the sexual job carries within. I imagined the work of an artist and a prostitute is the same: they sell their bodies to survive, and in this personal sacrifice, their bodies are works of art; canvases in where they paint their experiences day after day. I, as an artist, need to subsist too by selling my works, which are my true body and essence.
