Karin Lally

I was born and raised in the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. Region. I received my B.A. in Graphic Design at George Mason University. I have traveled all over the country. Recently, I found my new home to be in Yreka, California.

All of my life, in some way, I have been creating. I started sewing and crafting at an early age. The first style of paint I tried was watercolors. From there, I found acrylics, inks, glosses and sheens. My world has opened up.

Much of my focus is on the interplay of texture and light. My inspiration comes from people, nature, art, science and self reflection. Another main theme showing up in my art is the power of the mind in waking and dreaming life.

Fabric Sourcing Assistant. Managed fabric library and ensured quality and design for new lines.

Public Artist Assistant
2008-2009
Researched national public art opportunities for SandCart Studios. Liaison between artist, press, vendors and suppliers. Built and maintained artist website. Assisted in the design of monuments, kinetic sculptures and architecture.

National Geographic
2001-2002
Assisted department of Layout and Design. Made necessary layout design changes as directed by editorial.

Impressions
A juried art exhibition at Liberty Arts in Yreka, CA. Gallery show of fine-art printmaking mediums, including woodcut, intaglio, lithography, screen print, monotype, and original digital media. Exhibition Dates: May 13th – June 17th 2016.
