Christian Nguyen

I was born in Saigon, Vietnam, 1968 and soon after immigrated to New York City. The recurring themes that are layered into my work are - history of civilization particularly of ancient cultures, mythology, architecture and music. These are topics that I continue to explore and research because I’m interested in the origins of how we as human culture are creative. My work explore these origins through abstract elements, paring the optical language to its essential color and form. Within this abstract context, the viewer is allowed to bring their references into the experience of looking at my work.
