Pauline Van Buringen

I live and work in Amsterdam, Holland. Architecture is my passion. I find the natural order that is present in many topics fascinating. I want to capture that on a fairly industrial, graphical way loving challenges in perspective. I prefer to use oil paint while painting a-plein-air. Create and finish my paintings preferably on the spot so my work is quite realistic. Last year I won the first prize on the Pintar Rapido Amsterdam outdoor-contest. You can see more work on:

After an education at the Amsterdam Graphic Lyceum, I worked in advertising as an art director and designer, among other things, at a 3D department. By sketching artist impressions and story-boards, I could really understand 'perspective'. I am also interested in photography and architecture. In 2010 I started painting. First indoors, later outside, because the lessons of the Brittisch painter Jim Harris made me excited about oil painting in the open air. Besides material knowledge and an improved technique, I've learned that observing intensively, can make any subject interesting. As a result, there is much to discover in all different, ordinary places. And of course there are a lot of these places everywhere.
