Runsewe Olasunkanmi Oluwasegun

Runsewe Olasunkanmi Oluwasegun (b. 2004), known artistically as Seggzy Art, is a Nigerian mixed-media artist born and brought up in Badagry, Lagos State. Currently an undergraduate student of chemistry at Lagos State University.

His journey into art began art a young age, fueled by a natural talent and passion for drawing. However, it was in 2023 that he fully embraced art as a professional path, developing a body of work that reflects his evolving visions and voice.

Olasunkanmi's creative practice is rooted in the exploration of human identity, culture, emotions and lives experience. He works primarily with oil paints, acrylics, inks, charcoal pencils and stretched canvas to craft layered narratives that speak to both personal and collective realities. He continue to push the boundaries of his practice, blending traditional techniques with contemporary storytelling to create pieces that are both visually engage and emotionally.

Artist Statement

Art, to me is a language -- a way to express the emotions, identities and cultural realities that shape our world. Through my practice as a mixed Media artist, I explore the richness of African identity, the complexities of human experience, and the deep emotions that connect us all....
