Soraya is a Lesley University graduate, Cambridge-Massachusetts, in clinical mental health counseling and art therapy. She also holds a second masters degree in fine arts from ALBA, Beirut, and certificates from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, Art Students League of New York City, and the College for Educational and Clinical Art Therapy, Australia. Soraya has exhibited in solo art exhibitions as well as collective since 1999. Additionally, she is knowledgeable and has 2-years doctoral research experience in expressive therapies. Soraya is a co-author in the international book Art Therapy in Response to Natural Disasters, Mass Violence, and Crises, sold on credible sites.
Soraya holds a BA with high distinction in graphic design from the Lebanese American University (LAU), Lebanon, an MFA with an excellence award from the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA), Lebanon, with specialization in illustration and ceramics, and an MA with a 2016 award scholarship in Art Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University, Cambridge, USA. Her academic achievements also include a scholarship to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (ENSBA), France, workshops at The Art Students League of New York City, USA, and a year-long certificate from the College for Educational and Clinical Art Therapy with Robert Gray, Australia. Soraya is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.
Soraya is a professional painter and has exhibited her paintings in yearly solo and/or collective exhibitions since 1999. She received a United Nations Artist Award for World Population Day in 2003.
