Rebecca J. White is an American painter living in Japan.
Professional experience as an electronics technician has deeply influenced visual metaphors in her work.
She received formal training in MFA studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts 東京藝術大学院 (2004-2005), where she studied oil painting under Professor Koji Kinutani.
While living in Kyoto, Japan from 2000-2004, she was introduced to the aesthetic and philosophies of Japanese artists, which continue to guide her compositions and subject matter.
Experiences while working in Gaeta, Italy from 2005-2007 and in Naples, Italy from 2017-2019, also inform her palette.
