Irish plastic artist living in Granada, Spain, for the past 40 years or so. Inspired by Jackson Pollock, Rothko, Picasso, Dalí, Yoko Ono, Freud,Basquiat and a few more. Over 500 artworks created in a 30 year career. I do not use paint brushes, more keen on spatulas, knives, syringes, blotters, screw drivers, pieces of wood, cardboard, gravity, fingers, and anything that might get me to the effect i am looking for. In the past i have done some comercial artwork, for local companies.
My paintings reach for a different effect at different moments of the day or the night, depending on natural or artificial light conditions.
Going abstract was a big thing for me. I started doing scenes and spray can painting, and that developed to where i am now. Now, at nearly 50 years of age, my artistic career is getting my artwork to known in at least 10 countries right now, and i am enjoying every minute of it !.
When doing my artwork, i am just as happy doing a little 6x6cm abstract, as a mural, or a 1x1 sq mt tablex piece. Most of my actual work is done on canvas, and Tablex. My 'normal' paints are acrylic, oil, ink, spray can, multi effect paint, tempera, engine oil, and a few more that i experiment with.
And going back to me, i lo...
Most of my education was in the Spanish school and college system, till I reached pre-university. A titled photographer, i have done a photography course with Felipe Passolas, a famous local war photographer who has worked all around the World, in many conflicts and situations. My photographic style is mobile cam slapstick, and some of my photos (modestly speaking), are quite good.
Preparing a small exhibition in Granada, more keen on offering my art work online.
