I am an Indian artist in the MFA program at UW-Madison. I create intricate, point- and pattern-filled paintings influenced by traditional Indian, Persian, and Egyptian art, as well as Op Art. My work considers the importance of relationships and connections in developing careers and personalities. Currently, I am exploring teenage romance.
The inspiration for the upcoming series of paintings comes from my personal love story, a 5 year long-distance relationship. I have a strong memory of my high school days when I fell in love with someone, for the very first time. I observe that the feelings and behavioral- responses which I had experienced in my own journey to propose her, are very common in almost every love story. My longing for her is the driving force behind my art themes, which I want to share with you using visual art as a medium; so as to remind you of your personal love stories.
