Cindy Rawlings

I am a full-time artist originally from Johannesburg, now living in the picturesque sea side town of Hermanus in the Western Cape region of South Africa. Since a very early age, I have been influenced by creative people in my family and I knew that art is something I absolutely wanted to do for a living. My biggest inspiration is nature and the ocean. Nature reminds me of being alive and being able to perceive the world in a different light. Painting for me is about how I process life. I have found my muse in abstract expressionism, flowers and landscapes. I have applied myself to capturing their rugged patterns and intricate light changes. A passion that comes from a childhood growing up in the mountains, savannahs and forests of South Africa.
