Canadian artist based in Malta. I studied oil painting in the South Studio Atelier in Malta. The Atelier follows the great traditions of the Florence Academy of Art, so do I. The transience of life pushes me to create, to capture the moments of beauty I see all around. I learned sumi-e/ink wash painting and calligraphy in China, Canada, and Japan. Fragile rice paper gives a different feeling. It's the best canvas to express the complex simplicity of ink painting. I'm using a variety of Chinese, Japanese, and sometimes Korean paper. Some rare and vintage papers, mostly from Japan, are available for art commissions. I am using a centuries-old Japanese recipe to mount my own artwork.
