SEHRIYAR CEM Bio

Born in Tabriz, Iran in 1979, Sehriyar Cem Studied at the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts Sculpture department with Nilay Kan Buyukisliyen, Tulay Baytug, Umit Ozturk and Ziyaetin Nuriev. In 2001 he moved to United States and studied at The Art Students League of New York between the years 2003 and 2005. During this period he studied with Bruce Dorfman, Charles Hinman, Larry Poons, Richard Pantell and Michael Burban on painting, mixed media, printmaking and drawing.

Sehriyar Cem has been living and working in Istanbul since the end of 2005. Held solo and group exhibitions in Ankara, Istanbul and New York; his has artworks in Yeditepe University's Art collection as well as several other private collections.

Mostly Producing paintings, he uses acrylic and oil paint balancing a blend of aesthetics and action expressionism together. On his sculptures he uses metal mostly but also produces stone and bronze works as well.
