T. (Teresa) Fry-Green’s journey in art began by accepting commissions for small decorative pieces. This grew into a decorative painting business specializing in trompe l’oeil paintings, murals and high end finishes for commercial and residential clients throughout the Midwest. During this time, she also worked with talented designers to provide commissioned art for many of their shared clientele.
Eventually, she devoted herself exclusively to her studio work. At that time she focused her talents on accepting commissioned art in her preferred style at that time, representational realism. She also wanted to create a stronger art presence in their area and build a formidable art community. Teresa purchased a 130 year old historical building in the center of a small rural community. The building served as her studio and a small folksy gallery for local artists. Although challenging at times, she loved owning the gallery and developing relationships with the artists.
However, there is a season for everything. Teresa could feel the tug for change. Her very realistic painting style no longer fed her creative needs. She found herself longing for the “fun” of art. She longed to find the excitement of creating again, much like a small ch...
I have participated in numerous classes and workshops over the years. However, I am proud to be a self taught artist educated by wonderful professionals, hard work, a lengthy career.
