Overlapping pieces of paper are glued to burlap (or wood) to allow for drawing and painting in multiple steps, partially washing off, and ultimately reworking layers of paint like a palimpsest. Cyclical exploration of plants, insects, and the human body. Objective details are often only delicately suggested, so that the viewer's gaze is forced to search for traces and piece together parts, perhaps evoking thoughts of archaeology and so-called ground monuments. The papers, sometimes glued on top of each other and forming folds, further enhance this impression: forms and figures like a spirit summoning or a memory image.
