Ancestral Echo Drawing

I formally trained at Camberwell college of Arts as a sculptural ceramist and am best known for making intricate, fronded, one-off sculptures and wall hangings in my signature style of white and gold porcelain. I was a successful contemporary maker in the applied arts world for over a decade and have exhibited in prestigious shows nationally and internationally. I have a breadth of experience collaborating with architects, interior designers and curators to create large scale site-specific works in public and private domains. My hope is that the wealth of experience I have gained will be of great value as I embark on this new path and heed the strong call I have to paint. The core inspiration of this body of work celebrates the immense beauty of the natural world and my relationship and kinship with it. I'm creating from a feminine viewpoint, exploring and observing the patterns and emotions of my intuitive and instinctual nature. I’m especially drawn to and inspire by water, coast, river, reef and ocean. Places, movement, and patterns of water that captivate, resonate and hold an emotional and visual pull.
