Asma Rashidi is an Iranian artist whose work is deeply rooted in the rich history and cultural narratives of Persia. From an early age, she found solace and strength in painting, using art as a means of expression and resistance. As a woman of Persian descent, she carries the resilience of generations who have fought for their rights, and this struggle profoundly shapes her artistic voice.
Her paintings weave together themes of identity, memory, and the human experience, often exploring abstract portraits of women that embody strength, defiance, and untold stories. Influenced by her deep connection to the land and indigenous knowledge systems, her work reflects an interplay between tradition and contemporary perspectives.
Working across oil, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, ink, and mixed media, Asma’s art is a testament to the enduring spirit of those who navigate complex histories while envisioning new possibilities. Each piece invites viewers to engage with layered narratives, where heritage, resilience, and the unseen intertwine.
