Jason Henderson

Paper bag sketches – this is where it all began for Jason. His first drawings found themselves on cut up brown paper bags, carefully cut into squares by his mother. Jason would soon become a known child prodigy in Kentucky and attend the state’s prestigious Governor’s School for the Arts as a teen.

Now at 47, the emerging artist approaches a blank canvas with meditative mindfulness to create a spiritual flow in his pieces. It is what Jason calls a ‘divine dance.’

Using acrylic paint as his base, he mixes dance, drawing, painting, airbrush, typography and graphic design principles to express an interplay of multiple layers and textures.
