Luke Hodgson

Born in Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada Luke became interested in drawing and painting at a young age and was producing works regularly by age 8. Luke’s artwork is influenced by nature and the outdoor scenery of Waterloo Region and rural Ontario. His work is also inspired by the sites of Azores Portugal, remote tropical islands located in the North Atlantic Ocean. Luke has also been inspired by influential artists such as Vincent van Gogh and modern day artists like Kieron Williamson.

Self-taught, Luke uses a variety of mediums and creates a wide range of works from rural landscapes and cityscapes to waterscapes and seascapes. Luke’s artwork can be sensitive and impressionistic as well as expressionistic using bright and vibrant colours.
Luke is a member of an international group of 25 talented young artists from around the world led by two developmental psychologists based in New York and Boston who have spent their careers identifying and studying talented young visual artists. Their research has been featured in publications such as the National Geographic, American Minds, and the New York Times.
