Marianne Deangelis

Born and raised in Queens, NY, Marianne DeAngelis presently works/lives in NJ.

There is an honesty in confronting the canvas and applying pigment. In pursuit of a visual rhythm I lose myself layering color upon color forming harmonies and discord – attaining momentary truths as the layered paint becomes a physical history – a remnant of time.

Painting sparks vague recollections as I discover the familiar yet indiscernible. I am interested in color and how it evokes mood, inviting an intimate dialogue or contemplation.
