Miklos took up photography at sixteen when his father gave him a camera for his birthday. While studying cinematography and photography, he was apprenticed to the late Laszlo Neumann, a contemporary of Vilmos Zsigmond (Oscar winner and 4 time Oscar nominee) and Laszlo Kovacs (American Society of Cinematographers Lifetime Achievement Award), and one of the great Hungarian cinematographers of that time. With Laszlo as his mentor, he learned a great deal about composition and how to try to evoke emotion photographically.
